According to The Hollywood Reporter, the decision will not be taken very soon to finalise the name of the director, just like the way the decision for the role of the protagonist was taken after a lot of speculation.

The scriptwriters of this movie are Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve. MCU has decided to keep the cast and crew all-women and finally selected these three after shortlisting from a list of about a dozen contenders. Earlier Jennifer Kent (director of ''The Babadook''), Jennifer Yuh (director of ''Kung Fu Panda 2'') were also considered for this responsibility. They will be releasing this movie on women's day on March 8, 2019.

Caro is a 48 year film-maker who started her career with a music video named as ''Bad Note for a Heart'' which was released in 1990. Her major breakthrough came with the movie ''Whale Rider'' which was directed and written by her and was released on Sep. 9, 2002 in the Toronto film festival and on 30 Jan. 30, 2003 in New Zealand. It made $41.4 million in the box-office.

Then she directed ''North Country'' which was released on Oct. 21, 2005 worldwide. This movie was based on the plight of a woman Josey Aimes (played by Charlize Theron) who was subjected to domestic violence first by her husband and then was a subject of sexual harassment by co-workers. Theron too was a strong contender for the role of Carol Danvers for the movie ''Captain Marvel.''

Based on the novel ''The Vintner's Luck'' by Elizabeth Knox, Caro directed another film named as ''A Heavenly Vintage'' where she donned the hat of a writer and producer too. It was released on Nov. 12, 2009 in Toronto Film Festival and New Zealand.

Her movie ''McFarland, USA'' had an ensemble cast of Kevin Costner and Maria Bello. This American sports drama film was based on the true story of a 1987 cross country team from a high school in McFarland, California which had children from Latino origin. This movie was released on Feb. 20, 2015 in the United States.

Caro's movie ''The Zookeeper's Wife'' is in the filming stage and will be released on March 31, 2017. The main lead of the movie is Jessica Chastain who plays the role of Antonina Żabińska, a Warsaw Zoo keeper who saves many lives during World War II. Chastain was another contender for the role of the main lead in ''Captain Marvel.''

According to Cinemablend, MCU will play a major role in the business model of the comic books giant Marvel Comics due to the huge profits involved. ''If Marvel is a wheel, comics are the hub and everything else spokes out. Movies, TV ... they're all spokes of the wheel. If you want to know what the future is, in the movies, television, video games, animation --- pick up the comics, because there's a very good possibility that the stuff you're reading today will eventually find itself --- or a version of it --- in one of our media outlets'' clarified Joe Quesada, the Chief Creative Officer of the Marvel Entertainment.
