Beijing-based smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi, has just recently dropped its budget-phone Redmi Note 4, which features premium specs comparative to high-end mobile devices in the market.

The credentials of Xiaomi hold record to the company's reputation of priced phones. However, Redmi Note 4 seemed to break the trend, with its 16 GB version costing only $179.99 while the 64 GB model is priced at $239.99.

Based on Christian Today, Redmi Note 4 boasts a 5.5-inch multi-touch IPS LCD display screen, offering a resolution of 1080 x 1920p and 401 pixel density, while packing a 13-MP rear camera powered with a Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), an aperture of f/2.0, and dual-tone LED flash. The camera also includes other functional features such as digital zoom, geo-tagging, and a self-timer. The front contains a 5-MP camera for selfies and video conferences.

The Redmi Note 4 is also powered by 2.1 GHz deca-core Mediatek Helio X20 chipset processor, 3GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128 GB via a MicroSD card. It is a dual-SIM phone, offering one micro and one nano-SIM card slot - the latter is also used for the expansion card.

In addition, the device offers 2G/3G/4G connectivity options, a dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and OTG support. It is also packed with a massive 4,100 mAh battery, plus it supports rapid charging.

According to VineReport, the Redmi Note 4 measures 5.94 x 2.99 x 0.33 inches and weighs 6.17 ounces. The unit will be available in Dark Grey, Light Silver, and Gold versions, with an Android 6.0 Marshmallow and MIUI 8 interface.

Based on reports, Redmi Note 4 looks like the Redmi Pro, through its unibody design is made of metal and 2.5D curved glass. The former is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor along with an IR port that enables it to serve as a universal remote controller.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 3GB/64GB variant is available for US$239.99 from the company's website while the 2GB/16GB variant is priced at US$179.99.
