The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria continues to send shocking news all over the globe as the extremist group recently kidnapped 90 Syrian Christians.

This act of violence follows the gruesome killing of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians which was recorded on video and posted into various video-sharing websites all over the internet, according to The Daily Beast. The groups ultra-fundamental view of the Quoran stems from a 7th-century war strategy that states "to capture and besiege" any individual who is a "mushrikun" or polytheist. Judging by the group's action against the Christian faith, it shows that the groups view Christians as practitioners of "polytheist" religion.

On the execution video that the terrorist group posted on the internet, at some instance an Arabic message is being flashed with a message saying, "They call upon their God and die as al-mushrikun."

The English translation of the Islamic State's message reads, "They supplicate what they worship and die upon their paganism."

Based on the latest estimate by Assyrian leaders, ISIS currently held more 287 people hostage. 30 of these captured were children along with women, civilian men and some fighters for the Christian militia.

The Syriac Military Council estimates the hostage count somewhere around 350 individuals.

The Assyrian council has already called for international intervention in order to half the continued rampage of ISIS. The United States led coalition responded to the plight by sending in warplanes to target supposed areas controlled by the militant group.

Aside from burning villages and taking its villagers hostages, ISIS has also targeted museums and other important historical artifacts. The most recent victim to this rampage is the Mosul Museum wherein the ISIS destroyed archeological artifacts which they claim are symbols of idolatry and paganism, according to New York Times.
