Jeremy Lin is under a lot of pressure this season though he seems up to the task with the Brooklyn Nets. Lin gets a new lease on life following his struggles from recent years that included his forgettable stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.

While Jeremy Lin is looking pretty good with the Brooklyn Nets, the Asian-American cager had his share of downs. He barely made a difference with the Houston Rockets and his stock plummeted even more with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Understandably, his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers was a tough one to crack. He had to co-exist with Kobe Bryant and jockey for playing time against then-rookie Jordan Clarkson. He did come out with decent numbers but apparently, the stakes were high once a player dons the purple and gold uniform, ESPN reported.

Lin admitted that his time with the Los Angeles Lakers was the low point of his career when he was interviewed on “At The Hive”. Based on his tone, it was probably worse than his rookie season and getting to the NBA via the NBA D-League.

As far as the Lakers are concerned, it was obvious that he was not a fit. It was the darkest time of his NBA career considering teams were questioning his true value as a basketball player. The Charlotte Hornets took a chance on Jeremy Lin as a backup guard and somehow the move returned dividends.

Even as a backup, Lin was instrumental for Steve Clifford’s boys last season. They made the NBA playoffs while the Los Angeles Lakers got eliminated for the third straight year.

From there, Lin started to become popular once again and his name was among the most-mentioned ones in NBA free agency 2017. He eventually went to Brooklyn which had the perfect setting.

The team had a familiar face in first-year head coach Kenny Atkinson and the Nets were in need of a new point guard to lead the charge. With a new lease on life, Jeremy Lin is undoubtedly in the best position to prove he deserves to be a starter and a leader for the rebuilding Nets franchise.
