With fans excited about the flow of the story for the third season, rumor has it that Mrs. Sanchez would actually appear and the divorce plot between Beth and Jerry will be closed this upcoming season, according to iTech Post. Also, there are some who think that the re-use of the "interdimensional cable" would be brought back again. Harmon says that he is hesitant to use this style as to having callback from episodes would cause some problems to the quality of the show as inside jokes are somewhat relying on materials from previous episodes.

"I was very alarmist about callbacks because of Community getting a reputation so early on for being insular and you have to have a relationship with the show in order to decode it," Harmon revealed at San Diego Comic-Con.

While the ending of the second season leaves Rick Sanchez's fate to a mystery, the producers said that the plot for would be dealt with quickly at the start of season three, The Christian Post reported. They plan to resolve the story around Rick's imprisonment and move on to create a new storyline.

This leaves more room for the Beth and Jerry divorce plot to grow throughout the rest of the season and the possiblity of introducing Mrs. Sanchez to the story. Harmon also discussed that they have plans for Beth past the divorce and possibly finding love from someone else.

Many fans are wondering what the theme for the third season will be. Seeing as how the ending of the second season left many questions, some are speculating that it would have a more darker and dramatic tone. However, there are no confirmations yet from the producers about the plot.
