Park Bo Gum and his drama "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" continue to capture the interest of avid viewers and recently, music lovers. "My Dearest," a track sung by the actor for the KBS historical series' soundtrack album, debuted at the top of various South Korean music charts.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" featured several original songs that were performed by some of South Korea's famous singers such as Gummy, Baek Ji Young and more. Recently, the KBS series' lead actor Park joined the list of artists who recorded a track for the drama's soundtrack with the song "My Dearest."
Released on Oct. 11, Tuesday, "My Dearest" was featured as the background song during a heartbreaking reunion between the crown prince Yeong and Ra On, portrayed by Park and Kim Yoo Jung, respectively. Since its release, "My Dearest" already reached the top of various music charts, according to All Kpop.
"My Dearest" contains lyrics that sing of the crown prince's feelings for Ra On. Park's rendition also depicted the said character's various emotions from happiness to pain given his separation from his beloved.
The KBS drama is set to close its final chapter with its last two episodes to be released during the week of Oct. 17. However, the crown prince and Ra On's relationship suffered a major setback after her true identity was uncovered.
Ra On was revealed as the hidden daughter of a man labeled as a traitor and the leader of a resistance group. Despite the crown prince's efforts to remain loyal to their relationship, Ra On is adamant to separate from Yeong to ensure his safety.
In other news, viewership ratings for the KBS historical drama posted strong percentages during its more than one month run. Episode 15 that aired on Oct. 10, Monday, registered nationwide TV ratings of 17.9 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
Released on Oct. 11, Tuesday, the series' episode 16 posted a nationwide viewership share of 18.8 percent. Meanwhile, TV ratings across the Seoul Metropolitan area showed a viewership share of 18.5 percent and 17.8 percent for its episodes 15 and 16, respectively.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" will air its final two episodes on Oct. 17 and Oct. 18 on KBS. Watch some of the highlights from episode 16 below:
