Tim Tebow’s stint with the Scottsdale Scorpions at the Arizona Fall League has yet to produce a hit on the baseball field though all that hardly matters. The former NFL quarterback is there plainly for the business side of things which some have apparently forgotten.

Many see Tebow’s dream of making a rare transition from the NFL to the MLB as improbable, though some consider it a joke. Tebow was signed by the New York Mets, a move seen by most as nothing more than a publicity stunt. To date, the move has not produced anything on the field but a lot on the business side, CBS reported.

While all that seems obvious, there are followers and writers who aren’t exactly taking it easy on the former Heisman trophy winner. That includes Keith Law, a senior writer for ESPN who offered a harsh assessment on the progress of Tim Tebow.

Law’s piece is pretty much straight-forward, calling the whole setup a farce. The first part of his assessment practically says what his piece is all about, saying “Tebow the baseball player is not a baseball player; he’s a washed-up quarterback who has size and nothing else”, ProFootballTalk reported.

From there, Law gets into detail singling out the flaws in Tebow’s baseball game, particularly at bat. He summarizes everything as no justification for the former NFL player to be there as far as pro baseball is concerned.

Despite Law’s dish, it is likely that Tebow will stay on. This is as long as he continues to rack in the attention and the cash which is seen as perhaps the only reason why he is there. The roster spot he occupies may be somehow going to waste, a sacrifice that the Mets are ready to live with.

Had Tebow been an ordinary player, chances are he would have been axed by now. But publicity aside, Tebow has managed to endear himself to fans and co-players.

Tebow didn’t sign up and expect to get special treatment given his popularity in football. It may be an impossible dream but the 29-year-old is willing to go through the ropes even if his baseball future is not that bright.

Despite the debate on his baseball aspirations, Tim Tebow has not forgotten to attend people in need. Check out the video below showing him pray with a fan who appeared to have a seizure.
