“No Man’s Sky” is barely getting anywhere though new patches and updates hope to somehow get it back on track. The ambitious space exploration game has yet to get the much-needed help though game developers tease that the key changes will be dropping soon.

Audio designer Paul Weir and senior programmer Simon Carter took some time off to answer some queries over Twitter, sharing the status of “No Man’s Sky.” Weir confirmed that a patch is indeed on its way, though players will have to keep an eye out on when it will be rolled out.

Carter, on the other hand, gave a broader update, simply responding that he and other programmers are busy working on the updates. That said, the awaited patch for “No Man’s Sky” has turned out to be a waiting game of sorts though Hello Games may not have the luxury of time.

After establishing quite a hype, “No Man’s Sky” bombed out in a big way. Some blamed the PR strategy employed and the fact that there was no actual person to properly manage it. No less than Sony president Shueda Yoshida pointed out the oversight though he believes that Hello Games can eventually climb out of this hole, IGN reported.

The active player count has gone down tremendously with most disappointed with the game performance and recurring gameplay. Hence, it is important that game developers are able to add new content and improved performance and soon.

There are big expectations for the awaited patch for “No Man’s Sky”, potentially similar or even bigger than when the space exploration officially debuted in August. With reportedly only 10,000 players in waiting, it will be interesting if the new updates can jack up the numbers to at least 100,000. “No Man’s Sky” experienced up to 157,000 active gamers before the bugs and issues set in, Kotaku reported.

Either way, Sean Murray and the Hello Games people will try to salvage whatever they can through updates. The long wait has led many to believe that this may be something big, added and new pressure for the brains behind “No Man’s Sky”.

One of the complaints of players is the similar setup of planets, something discussed in the video below.
