When we say twins it is instantly assumed that two people looks the same or at least 90 percent likeness with each other, but there is an exception to that. Lucy and Maria Aylmer are twins by a Caucasian father and a half-Jamaican mother.

The 18-year-old girls are born and raised in Gloucester, United Kingdom.  They are two out of five siblings. Their sibling has blended features that they got from both parents while Lucy and Maria are totally opposites from each other. Lucy has a fair skin with red hair while Maria has darker skin and black hair, according to FNews.

Lucy, is taking up Arts and Design at the Gloucester College while Maria studies Law and Psychology at Cheltenham College. No one would easily believe the girls whenever they tell people that they are twins. With their contrasting features they don't even look like sisters.

"No one ever believes we are twins because I am white and Maria is black," Lucy explained. "Even when we dress alike, we still don't even look like sisters, let alone twins. When we've met friends for the first time they never believe we are twins and they have even made us produce our birth certificates to prove that we are actually twins."

In a biracial couple expecting twins, there a slim chance that the outcome of their children is different, there is about one in a five hundred chances that those twins will have different skin tones, Huffington Post reported.

The Aylmers are very proud of their unique looks and their bond as twins grows stronger as they grow up.
