Ryu Jun Yeol has been receiving a lot of hate over his appearance of late. In a recent interview, the Korean actor had the perfect response to people referring to him as ugly and his answer will make you love him even more.

After rising to fame with the popular series "Reply 1988," Ryu has since been called the handsomest of the ugly actors. The 30-year-old has finally broken his silence on the negative comments and criticism over his looks.

"You know how there are people who say I act out ugliness," Soompi quoted the actor as saying. "It doesn't make me feel bad at all because I love my physical appearance."

Ryu said he is aware that his physical appearance is common and not out of the ordinary and he considers his ordinary appearance as a blessing as there are times when those features come in handy while acting. He added that he has no qualms about his appearance and was happy to be a part of MBC's "Infinity Challenge" for their "Meet My Ugly Friend" special too.

"If I care for those kinds of things then side effects can follow," AllKPop quoted the "Socialphobia" actor as saying when asked about whether or not he is concerned about how his appearance could affect his on-screen roles. "Of course, visual is important and it'll be great to be handsome, but there is a certain feel that each character and person gives off," he added.

The actor also noted that a person's appearance is not something that can be altered because one wishes to change the way they look. Ryu recently earned a lot of praise from citizens and environmentalists for playing an important role in changing the environment laws in South Korea.
