Girls' Generation YoonA considered tvN's "The K2" as a stepping stone in her acting career. In the 16-episode tvN drama, the 26-year-old idol portrayed Go Anna, an illegitimate daughter of a presidential candidate.

In a sit-down interview with Yonhap News Agency on Nov. 15, Tuesday, YoonA said she took "The K2" role mainly because she wanted to do something different. The singer-turned-actress added that she wanted to push the boundary of her acting by taking on a role that people do not usually associate with her.

"I mostly played candy-like characters who are bright, optimistic and never give up," YoonA said. "I was attracted to An-Na because she was very different from my previous roles."

However, YoonA shared her disappointments about her performance, stating that there are many scenes that she could have done better. She added, "While I was acting, I thought I gave it my all. But when I reviewed it, I was not really satisfied."

YoonA then shared the most memorable scene of the tvN drama. She picked the part where Go Anna reunited with her father Jang Se-Joon (Jo Sung-Ha) at the hospital ward.

On the romantic side of the drama, the Girls' Generation member said it would have been better if there had been more romantic scenes between Go Anna and Kim Je-Ha (Ji Chang-Wook). She added that the last kiss scene turned out to be much better than she had expected.

"At the time of the shoot (of the kiss scene), it had been barely a week since we met each other," YoonA revealed. "I was so worried if the awkwardness between us was visually palpable. So I was relieved that people told me it looked natural."

For the kiss scene, the producer encouraged the actress to become acquainted with Ji through small talk about their hobbies and even non-sensical life philosophies. Compared to the past, Yoona said she now feels more passionate when it comes to acting and added that working with more experienced actors helped broaden her horizons.

Following "The K2," YoonA will star next in the upcoming historical drama "The King Loves," opposite ZE:A's Siwan, Soompi reported. She has been cast to play the daughter of the wealthiest man in town, Wang San, who possesses striking beauty and deadly charm.
