Things are heating up between Wiz Khalifa and Girls' Generation member Taeyeon. The rapper recently claimed that the latter lied about her reasons behind scratching off their supposed collaborative performance at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

On Dec. 3, Saturday, Khalifa took to Twitter to express his disappointment when Taeyeon suddenly backed out of their much-awaited performance. Following that, the latter clarified her side of the story through her Instagram story post, referring to audio issues as a reason.

"During the broadcast, I heard that the audio file we were supposed to use had a problem," the letter reads, as translated by All Kpop. "That's why we weren't able to properly do a sound check, and ultimately did not perform together. I was very disappointed."

Taeyeon then ended her letter hoping that no misunderstandings will come out of this between anyone. However, not long after her side came to light, Khalifa claimed the former lied and revealed the Girls' Generation member claimed she needed to go to the hospital the night before the prestigious event.

One of the rapper's fans then commented stating that the "Young, Wild and Free" hitmaker is exceptionally well in the presentation which matters most, not what the Kpop idol did. Interestingly, the former responded in affirmation. Just hours after Khalifa's claim, Taeyeon reacted through another video on her Instagram story. In the video, the latter revealed she did not go to the hospital and that she was washing up the entire time while waiting for him.

With Khalifa and Taeyeon's recent post exchanged, fans are now more confused on why their supposed collaborative performance did not happen. The two were initially reported to be sharing the 2016 MAMA stage for their own rendition of "See You Again," Soompi reported.
