While Android 7 Nougat is something already expected by some consumers, especially that other brands are also upgrading their OS to Nougat, the inclusion of a custom launcher was something least expected. As per GSM Arena, EMUI 5.0 will bring new optimization experience for users that would include apps prioritization based on the most frequently used Huawei Honor apps. Thus, allowing optimal performance and flexibility.

Apart from that, another upgrade that will continue to benefit Honor 8 users would be the intelligent power management system, which could help in power optimization. Moreover, reports also suggest that with EMUI 5.0 comes an improved capability and flexibility around phone security.

As a refresher, those who are still not familiar with Huawei's Honor 8 smartphone, it is packed with Kirin 950 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of microSD-expandable storage, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner with programmable shortcut key, as well as a dual-12MP camera setup housed under a 5.2-inch 1080p screen.

This particular piece of device is not something that Huawei is expecting a huge sale. As what Android Central emphasized, Honor 8 is obviously introduced to the U.S. market for brand awareness. Thus, Huawei opted to make it a great budget-conscious, flagship-challenging option with a price tag originally below $400.
