"The Walking Dead" Season 7 has introduced Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as a villainous character in the hit AMC series.

However, TV Line believes that more fans will be able to relate to the character if more information about his past is unveiled in the upcoming episodes. The publication noted how good of an actor Morgan is so there is no doubt that he has left a huge impact on the viewers and his co-stars. But since he is a villain, not a lot of fans love his character.

It would therefore be a good idea for the writers of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 to portray the character as a more compelling member of the show. When this is done, fans will also understand why Negan has turned into a very heartless character. Not to mention, most evil men definitely suffered from great losses and pain from the past that they do not want to remember anymore. This means that there could be an important story regarding Negan's past that should really be explored.

Meanwhile, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 just aired its midseason finale, and it has the most similarities with the original comic book. In "Hearts Still Beating," the creators of the series came up with parallel storylines as with its written counterpart. In the episode, the gutting of Spencer was depicted the same way it was written in the book.

However, Daryl Dixon's confrontation with Fat Joey was shown on television, but it was not really part of the book. Additionally, Olivia being shot on the face was also only added for television, as well as Rosita's shooting of Lucille. Also in the episode, it was revealed that Carl shot Lucille. This enraged Negan so the latter insisted for Carl to be handed over. In the end, the residents of Alexandria did not want to hand Carl over, but Negan said that if they do not do as they are told, he would kill more people.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will return to AMC with episode 9 on Feb. 12, 2017.
