"Girl Meets World" Season 3 may be the last for the Disney Channel sitcom.

During a recent interview, "Boy Meets World" alum Rider Strong confirmed that "Girl Meets World" will end with its third season. "We finished the third season of 'Girl Meets World'-my brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple - and the show ended," he said on his podcast, "Literary Disco" (via TV Line). However, since Disney Channel has not made any official announcements yet, they had to deny Strong's statements by saying that it is incorrect.

On the show's official Twitter account, the writers for "Girl Meets World" also said that a decision will be made by Disney Channel really soon. After all, there are only three episodes left before Season 3 officially comes to a close. Still, a follow up tweet posted on the same social media platform may have hinted that the fate of "Girl Meets World" has already been sealed.

Meanwhile, to make things even more confusing, the title for the final episode of "Girl Meets World" Season 3 is "Girl Meets Goodbye." The title itself suggests that the sitcom will be saying goodbye to their fans for good. The same episode will feature appearances by some of the original cast members of "Boy Meets World." This includes Eric, Shawn, Mr. Fiddle, Mr. Turner, Minkus and more.

As of late, none of the cast members of "Girl Meets World" have said anything about the show's cancellation. They have simply been urging fans to use the hashtag #savegmw in hopes that the sitcom will be renewed by doing so.

"Girl Meets World" Season 3 will return with new episodes starting January 2017 on Disney Channel.
