The mystery was discovered when they found out that the driver of the car, Lynn Groesbeck was dead hours ago. Lily Groesback, an 18-year old daughter was trapped upside down at the back seat of her mother's vehicle.

According to Officer Bryan Dewitt, there were only two persons in the car, the dead mother and the trapped child, so there is no way that the woman (who called for help) was on the speaker.

Officer Tyler Beddoes told the Fox News that they were certain about what they heard, but just could not explain it.

After all the investigations, they found out that the overturned car in the icy Utah river, was there for 14 hours. The officers could not explain how the infant survived after being hanged upside down and the icy water in the river was touching her head, according to NY Daily News.

There were no mechanical failures in the car and no traces of using drugs after thorough investigations. The police believed that the cause of the accident was when the car hit the cement on a bridge which made the vehicle flew into the river. Spanish Fork police Lt. Matt Johnson said that the two were heading home to Springville after visiting Lynn's parents in Salem.

Beddoes said that the family thanked all the officers who are involved in saving the child.

"We all got together and we all heard the same type of thing," Beddoes emphasized. "We just can't grasp what we were hearing."
