Diana Gabaldon's novels, which the Starz time travel series is based, tells a looming meeting between the lost lovers in "Outlander" Season 3. Separated by time and distance, viewers would be able to see how the characters would evolve without each other.  Heughan and Balfe weighed in on their characters.

"I think what's going to be most exciting is the reunion between Claire and Jamie and them discovering each other again and falling in love all over again," Balfe told Variety. ""I think both of them have probably held each other up on a pedestal for 20 years, so in many ways, they're going to have to destroy that image first before they can fall in love with the person right in front of them, and that's going to be really interesting."

Heughan told the publication that Jaime would find it hard to cope up with life without Claire by his side. At one point, he may think that there is no sense in living without Claire. When "Outlander" Season 3 returns, Jaime and Claire would realize the real meaning of being a couple as they face the adversities, joy, heartaches and success together.

Aside from the tragedies that Jaime and Claire have to deal with due to their separation, their love for each other may be put into test. Captain Jonathan Randall or Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), who caused chaos between Jaime and Claire, may continue to mess up the couple's relationship in Season 3. Randall, however, is destined to die in his final match with Jaime in Culloden Moor.

To bring more conflict in "Outlander" Season 3, viewers would meet new villains, including Laoghaire (Nell Rose Hudson) and her daughter Marsali (Lauren Lyle). Laoghaire, who has a strong desire for Jaime and extremely jealous of Claire after Jaime and Claire tied the knot, would take advantage of Claire's absence, Den of Geek reported.

As the main story would focus on Jaime and Claire's reunion, Season 3 would also highlight on Frank (Tobias Menzies) and Claire, raising Jaime and Claire's daughter, Brianna. It would be a great challenge for Frank to live with Claire after her long years of absence, and now she is back with Brianna. Watch the footage below of the upcoming season of "Outlander"
