While there are definitely some people who think that the only viable smartphone options are Apple and Samsung, there are definitely lots of competitive products out there. A good example of these would be the smartphones from LG. In fact, these smartphones are so high quality that they are holding their own in a South Korean market that is seemingly dominated by Samsung.

The LG G5 really pushed the envelope by attempting to get the trend of a "modular design" to catch on. This involved additional parts that would attach seamlessly to the G5 and provide additional functionality, but only proved to be a fad and died down pretty quickly after the G5's release. The G5 managed to get decent review scores though, mostly by virtue of its screen, camera, and fast-charging.

While the LG G5 was just released less than a year ago, there are now renders circulating around the web of LG's next big smartphone release. Concept Creator, who is known for creating pretty close renders of smartphones prior to their release dates, has now created one for the pixel blue version of the LG G6, Concept Phones reported. If this render is what the final phone will look like then LG has definitely got the aesthetics part of the G6 down to a tee.

The render was based on information that came from multiple sources such as @OnLeaks as well as MySMartPrice. The renders show that the G6 will feature two cameras on the back for improved picture-taking capabilities. The render for the LG G6 seems noticeably thinner now, especially since LG has decided to do away with their modular aspirations for smartphones - for the time being at least.

The G6 will be released "it the very near future," Samsung has revealed to the Wall Street Journal. Currently, all signs are pointing to it being released at the Mobile World Congress next month. This may very well work out great for LG, especially considering the battery problems that have plagued Samsung, as well as Samsung's reported decision to hold off on unveiling their new Galaxy smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
