"The Walking Dead" mid-season premiere will see Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) ready to lead the Alexandrians to defeat Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors. Although earlier spoilers have revealed that the next episodes will feature Rick aiming for a "rise up," "The Walking Dead" comics' next issue is showing a different angle.

The cover of "The Walking Dead" comics' issue#163 shows Rick's prosthetic arm reaching up along with the arms of the walkers. The next issue of the comics made people wonder if Rick will bite the dust when "The Walking Dead" Season 7 returns. It could be remembered that series creator Robert Kirkman teased Rick's demise earlier in 2016.

When asked if Rick would die, "He do eventually," Kirkman said in a Reddit AMA. "I don't play favorites. They all die eventually."

During the questions and answer, Kirkman revealed that he has already a plan for the ending of the show. He also warned that it would not be too long before the series concludes. Whether Rick would die in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 still remains a big mystery as teh series creator did not elaborate more on this issue.

Another cover of the comics came out that talks a different story. As seen on the cover, Rick is sporting Negan's clothes and holding Negan's bat Lucille. It suggests that if Rick would die, Negan may likely take over Alexandria, particularly now that the story is showing hints of Negan's redemption arc, Comic Book reported.

"The Walking Dead" issue#163 will be out in the market on Feb. 1. Image Comics revealed that it is the most ordered single issues for the last 20 years. More than 730,000 copies of the 40-page book has been ordered by various comic book retailers.

After the death of Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), Rick is rejuvenated to rekindle his leadership. The new season features Rick reunited with Daryl (Norman Reedus), Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin) as they prepare their biggest war against Negan.

The AMC zombie series has a total of eight episodes. "The Walking Dead" returns on Feb. 12 at 9/8c. Watch the video of "Rise Up" episode below:
