"Goblin" aired a special episode last week in place of its original 14th episode, and the reason behind the decision has finally been explained.

Previously, tvN claimed that they wanted to address the negative reactions from fans especially with regards to Kim Shin and Eun Tak's questionable relationship. Other publications such as Koreaboo claimed that some of the cast members have fallen sick during the filming so they had to push back the rest of the episodes.

However, even though that some of the stars got sick, and their schedule were so tight that they could not commit to the filming schedule, there is another reason why episode 14 was pushed back from last week to this week.

One production staff said that episode 14 was pushed back because they want to keep fans guessing what will happen next to their favorite characters. In order to build climax for the popular K-drama, they have decided to make fans wait for an entire week.

Meanwhile, the last three episodes of "Goblin: The Lonely and Great God" will feature tons of computer graphics and special effects. This is another reason why episode 14 was delayed. Doing so paves the way for the production to focus on making the final three episodes nicer and livelier.

"The delay is partly due to our PD's ambitious goals. The last three episodes are going to be full of bright colors, as they will be focusing on a lot of the magical and fantastical aspects of the storyline. Thus, we are planning on using a lot of computer graphics, which requires a little more time," one of the staff said.

In addition to this, the staff and everyone from the production team of "Goblin" do not want the scenes that use computer graphics to look fake. "We do not want the computer graphics to look tacky, so we are focusing entirely on improving the visuals so that it can live up to the name of being a fantasy drama."

"Goblin's" 14th episode, titled "All Days Were Good," will air on tvN on Jan. 20. The three-hour finale will air on Jan. 21.
