Marvel, Netflix 'The Defenders' stars plus Sigourney Weaver spotted in new set photos

Marvel's "The Defenders" Netflix series is slowly coming together as new set photos from Getty Images have shown. The "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist" stars have been spotted in the new pictures.

For the uninitiated, "The Defenders" may look like a smaller and obscure version of Marvel's Avengers. They can be considered as street-level heroes that keeps it safe from abusive, corrupt and powerful entities simiar to how the Daredevil took down Kingpin.

New Getty Images show "The Defenders" stars playing around the set while some scenes show Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) being intimate, Inverse has learned. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) are also shown in flirtatious moments which can mean sex scenes further down the road.

Intimate scenes in the Netflix and Marvel superhero exclusive series are not new. Cage and Jones have already slept together while the former and Temple seemingly almost did in the recent series. It is not yet confirmed how "Iron Fist" will fit into the mix considering that the upcoming show will be aired after "The Defenders."

"Avatar" star Sigourney Weaver was also spotted in "The Defenders" set photos as she will be the antagonist for the whole series, Comic Book reported. Unfortunately, the photos do not show much regarding what villain she will be playing. Weaver was seen just riding a car in the Getty Images photos.

"Jessica Jones" episode 10 director Uta Briesewitz will be directing an episode or more for "The Defenders" as seen in the set photos as well. The working title for the show is "Group Therapy" which may offer a clue as to how the whole gang will work together.

Marvel and Netflix's "The Defender" is due to be released this year before "Iron Fist." "Daredevil" Season 3, "Jessica Jones" Season 2 and "Luke Cage" Season 2 are also expected to be launched soon.
