"Shadowhunters" Season 2 is set to explore more of Clary's (Katherine McNamara) powers and leadership abilities, as she encounters situations that will question her decision-making skills. Meanwhile, Simon's (Alberto Rosende) new romance in Maia (Alisha Wainwright) will have him turning to an unexpected character for dating tips.
In "Shadowhunters" Season 2 episode 6, Clary discovered that her blood is pure after passing the Iron Sisters' purity test. Despite Valentine's (Alan van Sprang) earlier experiments where he had Jocelyn (Maxim Roy) drink demon blood while she was pregnant with Clary, it appears that the demonic blood failed to taint the said protagonist's body.
Aired on Feb. 6, the said episode also led to Clary's introduction to Luke's (Isaiah Mustafa) sibling Cleo (Lisa Berry). As one of the Iron Sisters, the said character is a powerful fighter who appears to have a hidden agenda given the way that she killed one of her fellow Sisters.
Viewers will learn more about Cleo and her strained relationship with Luke in the upcoming "Shadowhunters" Season 2 episode 7. Titled "How are Thou Fallen," the said episode will also feature a tense encounter between Clary and Luke given the latter's suspicions that Cleo might have something to do with a recent attack, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoilers Guide.
With Cleo's sudden appearance at Jade Wolf, coupled with her fighting skills, Clary will come up with a plan to go after Valentine. However, Luke will remain suspicious of his sister's actions.
As for Simon, after acknowledging his growing romantic feelings for Maia, he will try his best to woo his new love interest. Having no clue about relationships and dating, Simon will enlist Jace's assistance to give him helpful tips on how to romance Maia.
In other news, viewers can expect to see Clary's emotional journey following Jocelyn's death. In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Todd Slavkin shared that the said character's demise will push Clary to become a stronger woman as she embarks on her hero's journey.
