The Belmont Clan's continuous efforts in thwarting Dracula's evil plans in home consoles over the years will be retold as a web series this 2017. It has been announced that Konami's "Castlevania" franchise will soon be streamed over at Netflix.

The big reveal was made by producer Adi Shankar as he took to Facebook to announce that the project will be available for binge watchers sometime this 2017. Nonetheless, details about the upcoming web series are scarce as of the moment.

Prior to such announcement, Frederator's Fred Seibert hinted in 2016 that he together with Shankar are working on a project that is based on a famed game franchise that has been around for three decades now. It was then assumed that the series will be just an animated adaptation of the game and even depicted as "super violent," according to IndieWire.

Shankar also guaranteed to fans that their adaptation of "Castlevania" will not be like another video game-themed TV/Film adaptations that failed horribly in the past. Such confidence is due to Warren Ellis' involvement in the project as he already scribed both seasons of the yet to be released show, Venture Beat reported.

The "Castlevania" franchise has been around since 1986 as players delve into the world of the Belmont bloodline that is tasked to be pitted against the lord of bloodsuckers - Dracula. Among the installments that were released over the years, it was 1997's "Symphony of the Night" that gained the most acclaim.

Albeit the subtle promotional campaign in the west prior and during its release, the game went on to become a cult classic and copies of the game are now deemed as collector's items. The game received numerous game of the year awards during that period and even garnered high rankings on that era's greatest games lists.
