The upcoming episode of "Supernatural" Season 12 is gearing up to be another exciting addition to the CW series and might even feature the death of a beloved character. Latest spoiler news teased of an emotional encounter that involves a badly wounded Castiel (Misha Collins) imploring Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) to run away from danger while they still can.
The Winchester brothers were recently faced with a difficult challenge of breaking a Memento-type spell to save Dean. Aired on Feb. 9, Thursday, "Supernatural" Season 12 episode 11 gave viewers a look at a different Dean who nearly forgot everything that mattered to him including Sam.
However, the CW series' upcoming episode will feature a life-threatening situation that might leave the Winchester team without an angel by their side. Titled "Stuck in the Middle (With You)," "Supernatural" Season 12 episode 12 will have Castiel fighting for his life while trying to save Dean, Sam and Mary (Samantha Smith).
The said incident will happen after Mary enlists Castiel and her sons' assistance on a case, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoilers Guide. Neglecting to divulge the involvement of the British Men of Letters to the trio, Mary will find herself double-crossed and stuck in what appears to be an ambush.
Moreover, the said situation might claim Castiel's life, as shown in the upcoming episode's promo clip. Posted on the same news site, a scene in the said teaser video revealed the said angel in agony as black-colored cracks begin to appear on his face.
Some of the scenes also showed Castiel trying to convince the Winchesters to run and leave him behind. He stated in a voice-over, "Don't make my last moments be spent watching you die."
Apart from the threat to Castiel's life, avid viewers of the CW series can also look forward to learning more about Lucifer's mythology. In an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Andrew Dabb shared that they will introduce "some long-forgotten Lucifer lore" in episode 12.
