Kara and Mon-El almost lock lips in "Supergirl" Season 2 episode 12 but have to pull apart due to a supernatural intrusion. It is the rude intrusion, called Mr. Mxyzptlks (really unsure how to pronounce it!) that will drive Kara and Mon-El further apart in the upcoming episode.
Valentine's Day was knocking at the door, love was finally in the air between Supergirl a.k.a. Kara and Mike a.k.a. Mon-El after a long charade of denial and Mr. Mxyzptlks apparated just in time to ruin the moment for the love birds.
As the viewers will find out in "Supergirl" Season 2 episode 13, Mr. Mxyzptlks is a magical imp who shows up on National City out of nowhere just to profess his love for Kara.
As the trailer points out, the lovesick imp even transforms Kara into a bride, wedding dress and all, but to no avail. Feeling sorry for the poor admirer, Kara lets him off easy, thinking he is not a real threat to anyone, Flickering Myth reported.
The entire situation would have been romantic if Mr. Mxyzptlks wasn't secretly a psychopath, who goes on a terror spree immediately after Kara rejects him. As it turns out, Mr. Mxyzptlks is from the 5th Dimension, who loves mocking Superman. He even puts on a Superman costume lookalike, which Kara mistakes for her cousin.
Mon-El, however, is not one to be fooled so easily. He warns Kara that Mr. Mxyzptlks is bad news from the very beginning. Apparently, he had encountered entities like Mr. Mxyzptlks back at Daxam and hence, was familiar with their villainous tendencies, Spoiler TV reported .
Kara, initially, refuses to believe Mon-El's analysis of Mr. Mxyzptlks and an argument ensues between them regarding the matter. Amidst it all, Mon-El even ends up (somehow) in his underwear in the middle of the DEO headquarters! Her opinion about Mr. Mxyzptlks soon changes when he proves to be a nuisance, trying to outsmart the Man of Steel.
So how does Supergirl manage to defeat Mr. Mxyzptlks? She tricks him into saying his name backward! Catch all the hilarity and confusion on "Supergirl" Season 3 episode 13, titled "Mr. & Mrs. Mxyzptlk". It airs on Monday, Feb. 20 on The CW.
