"I remember very clearly that our director, the crew members, and my fellow actors all suffered a lot because of filming during the hot summer," Park said in a statement obtained by Soompi. "However, I smile when I think of that summer because it is filled with very good memories for me."

The idol-turned-actor goes ahead to express his gratefulness toward director Yun Seong-Sik, screenwriter Park Eun-Young and to the entire staff members for making such a wonderful production. "Hwarang" has captured the hearts of many with its ensemble cast and refreshing storyline. While it started off with impressive viewership ratings, the show was not able to maintain its position as its direct competitors "Defendant" and "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People" quickly climbed to the top.

Regarding this matter, actress Go Ara said that their goal was to create a good project with fun memories. "Hwarang" has its own unique color as a production and since viewers enjoyed watching it, the actress would prefer not to focus on viewership ratings alone.

"I participated in this drama because I wished to have fun while filming a historical drama and wanted to capture the passion of young people," The Kpop Herald quoted the actress as saying before a group of local media. "I hope that ['Hwarang'] won't only be talked about in terms of numbers."
