Kate Middleton is almost eight months pregnant, but the sex of the second royal baby still remains a mystery. Speculations are running rampant as the Duchess of Cambridge's due date draw closer.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that the Duchess has unknowingly dropped a major clue about the sex of the baby. According to People, Kate Middleton was spotted shopping for baby clothes in Chelsea, London. She reportedly visited one of her favourite stores named Amaia and was focused on girls' apparel.

Chatting with the publication, the eyewitness and co-owner of the store Segolene Tresca said that the Duchess was "very interested."

"Every mum that comes in the shop, they look for boys' [clothes] but they always end up looking at the girls' stuff too" said Tresca, who is hoping that the Duchess will give birth to a baby girl this time.

The royal couple prefers to keep the sex of the baby a surprise. However, the website notes that Kate Middleton wore a baby pink dress at the Commonwealth Day Observance ceremony at Westminster Abbey, which could be considered as evidence.

Meanwhile, Mirror UK reported that the Duchess is now in "12-week stage of her pregnancy" and is expected to deliver the baby in the second half of April or may be as late as April 20.

The palace is yet to make a formal announcement. However, the Duchess is rolling up her final tasks before she goes on her maternity leave.

The Duchess made one of her final appearances at the Turner Contemporary Art Museum and Resort Studios in Margate, Kent, England, recently. Chatting with artists and students in the vicinity, Kate Middleton said that it's "not long now" according to Us Magazine.
