A year after President Barack Obama created the United States Digital Service (USDS), the President appoints David Recordon as Director of White House Information Technology to continue his administration's effort to make the most of the technological advancements in order to improve the government's service.
USDS is a team of US's most gifted technologist who are gathered to serve the White House. Their main duty is to help utilize the technological advancements to in order for the government to better serve the American citizens. Leading the Digital Service is Mikey Dickerson, Googles' former executive, Time reported.
Recently Recordon, Facebook's former Engineering Director and one of Silicon Valley's respected technologists, was appointed by the President to take charge of White House's technology that involves security and modern software.
The President revealed that having Recordon as Director is a part of improving the continued efforts of the government to serve its beloved citizens.
"We're bringing in top tech leaders to support our teams across the federal government." Obama states.
He expresses his confidence towards the respected technologist saying: "His considerable private sector experience and ability to deploy the latest collaborative and communication technologies will be a great asset to our work on behalf of the American people."
Part of Recordon's job title are technological responsibilities within the White House.
He is expected to lead the charge to improve security systems and develop advance software for the White House. The results of these operations will lead into Federal government's technological improvements, according to The White House.
