Lt. Aubrey Gregory of Louisville Metro Police helped Asia Ford to finish her 10k run at the Rodes City Run on Saturday. She finished third to the last. Ford throws up her arms as she crossed the finish line with the aid of her son and Lt. Gregory.

Ford thanked Gregory via Facebook after the race explaining that she had messed up because she totally forgot to eat that morning. The message on the social media sites were seen by Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and has been viewed millions of times by Sunday afternoon, according to The Huffington Post.

Gregory went to help the struggling woman around the four-mile mark who is being helped by her son too at the time. The police officer walked with the woman up to the end, where he released her arms as she crosses the finish line. Ford raised her arms triumphantly, a scene which was captured by photographer Jonathan Roberts.

Fischer sent a tweet from his Twitter to share that moment on Facebook, stating that it was "what a compassionate city looks like."

Twentry-four hours after Fischer's posting on Saturday afternoon, his tweet got 220 re-tweets and got favorited about 271 times. The Mayor's Facebook posting were liked for more than 22,400 times and was re-posted by others Facebook members for more than 4,000 times.

The photo of the paramedic which was shared on the Imgur.com website reaped more than 1.83 million views around Sunday afternoon, USA Today reported.

Ford posted on her own Facebook and called Gregory her angel.
