The excitement continues in Bryan Singer's "X-men: Apocalypse" as the director confirms the inclusion of another mutant in the scene, Angel. Fans have also the chance to have a look on the mutant's concept art.

Film helmer Singer officially gave a confirmation that Angel will be part of the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse," as per Empire Online. The character is to be played by actor Ben Hardy, who is known for his roles in television series such as "Children in Need," "The Graham Norton Show," and "EastEnders."

The director confirms Hardy's casting as Angel in a phone conversation with Empire. He also added that he is not going to be a "very nice Angel." Does it mean that the mutant is going to take the antagonist side?

Two concept art photos of the mutant are also revealed by the production team. The first image is Angel with his wings unfurled and the other image is with wings furled. The photo with the folded wings looks bionic while the one with unfolded wings suggests an Angel ready for a battle. The feathers on Angel's wings look like blades with perfect symmetry, ready to hurt the foes. It can also be seen that the mutant's suit and wings are dark in color.

Hardy's version of Angel is different from Ben Foster's version in Russ Parr and Brett Ratner's "X-Men: The Last Stand" in 2006. The concept art "definitely looks like Archangel," according to Slashfilm.

Angel, with the real name Warren Kenneth Worthington III, is known to have fully feathered wings that spread 16 feet in its very flexible skeletal structure. By flapping his wings, Angel can fly and reach speeds of up to 150 meters per hour (mph). The mutant's anatomy is primarily modified for flight, featuring dull bones, low body fat, eyes that can endure gale winds, improved vision to see at far distances, and a specialized respiratory membrane that takes oxygen from the air at high velocities and altitudes.

The upcoming film is to be starred by James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, and Jennifer Lawrence.

Directed by Singer, the film is to be co-produced by Lauren Shuler Donner, John Ottman, Josh MacLaglen, Simon Kinberg, and Todd Hallowell. Kinberg, Dann Harris, and Michael Doughtery are set to pen the script.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 27, 2016.
