The May issue of Playboy magazine will have something unique to offer as several never-seen-before nude pictures of the queen of pop, Madonna, will don its pages.

The shots were taken in 1979 by photographer Martin H.M. Schreiber at his Manhattan studio. The collection of Madonna's nudes will be featured as "Madonna: The Lost Nudes."

People reported that the vintage black-and-white photographs are also to be included in Schreiber's new book "A Retrospective 1966-2014," which is expected to hit the shelves by June this year. The pictures are also available on his website here for sale.

The photographs were famously taken when the pop star was around 21-year-old and was still struggling in New York to sustain herself. Around this time, Madonna worked as a backup dancer for other established artists and as a part time model. She had reportedly posed for these photographs in return of as little as $25 a session as she was in dire need of money.

Around the time of her first concert tour in North America in 1985, Playboy and Penthouse magazine published a number of these nude shots of the star taken from the same photo session. The photos created an uproar in media at that time, but the pop star remained unapologetic about it. Madonna is always a sport when it comes to posing provocatively as she had also famously published her own book of erotic photographs entitled "Sex," back in 1992, New York Daily News reported.

Now 56, the star has just released her album, "Rebel Heart," on March 10 and will soon embark on Rebel Heart tour to promote her album. Often cited as "queen of pop," the star has sold more than 300 million copies and is known as one of the best-selling female artists of all times.
