The fossils of a new terror bird who walked the earth around 3.5 million years ago in the forests of Argentina, and was as tall as 10 feet have been discovered by the scientists. It was a very violent and carnivorous species of birds which also had hooked beaks which helped them to hunt for their prey and eat them in a very easy manner.

These birds roamed the South American forests constantly hunting for food. They are being titled as the group of the most dangerous terror birds, reports Science Mag.

This species is being called Llallawavis scagliai, and the scientists say that the discovery of their fossil will lead to the understanding of other species of predator birds which was present around the same time on Earth. The fossils which have been discovered of this particular species of birds is being reported to have been found in a 90 percent preserved state, which has been a surprise to the team of researchers. The reason is that it is already very rare to find a whole intact fossil, let alone the fossil of a bird, and that too of such a pre historic species of birds, reports Daily Science Journal

Since it was already in such a well preserved state, the scientists are wasting no time in to studying the anatomy of these birds and shedding more light about these beasts. The toe, the wing bones of the bird are missing from the retrieved fossil alongwith the tips of its tail.

The researchers say that these birds roamed in open environments like a dense forest or grassland and seemed to live near areas which had small streams of rivers flowing through them.
