Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the firsts in line in getting the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update.
SamMobile cited an unnamed insider claiming that Samsung is hard at work in customizing the new Android and will roll it out to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Google recently rolled out the said version to Nexus and Android One devices. The report added that Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is also bound to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
The latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS brings a number of important bug fixes and stability improvements. The new software version also brings device protection, smarter Wi-Fi, improved priority mode, new icons, new animations and dual SIM compatibility.
The report also added that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Mega 2 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update as the two devices still falls to the two years support followed by manufacturers. There is no official from Samsung yet.
Meanwhile, there are whispers saying that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update release date is bound for release since the said version was spotted in the Android SDK Manager. Christian Today stated that Google will roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS to fix some of the stubborn bugs and issues left unfixed by Android 5.1.
Android SDK Manager is an important platform for the OS and it hints the imminent arrival of the new version of the operating system. This is even intensified by the flash images and over the air updates for Nexus handsets.
However, Google has not confirmed the release date of Android 5.1.1 OS.
