"Gotham" Season 1, Episode 20, titled "Under the Knife," aired Monday, April 20, on FOX. Here are ten of the highlights of the episode.
Spoiler alert: This feature contains 'Gotham' Season 1 spoilers. Read on at your own risk.
1. Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) is feeling guilty over the death of Reggie Payne (David O'Hara). Payne nearly killed Alfred (Sean Pertwee), but Bruce thinks Selina Kyle/Cat (Camren Bicondova) shouldn't have pushed him to his death.
2. The ex-girlfriend of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), is at great risk in the company of Jason, aka the Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia).
3. Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) stays behind Gordon in his fight against the Ogre. At one point, they were almost hit by the Ogre's rushing car.
4. Sal Maroni (David Zayas) meets Gertrude Kapelput (Carol Kane), Oswald's mother. Maroni outs the Penguin as a vicious murderer, and Gertrude is shocked.
5. Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is not in this episode. It remains to be seen whether or not she will survive her gunshot wound, which she sustains in "Gotham" Season 1, Episode 19.
6. Dr Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) is safe despite Gordon's fears in the final moments of the previous episode. In "Gotham" Season 1, Episode 20, Gordon tells Leslie he really does love her.
7. Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) makes his first kill. He repeatedly stabs the abusive boyfriend of Kristen Kringle (Chelsea Spack).
8. Selina and Bruce attend a charity ball together, before which he makes sure that she would have everything she'd need - dress, shoes and others.
9. Barbara and Bruce meet for the first time in "Gotham" Season 1, Episode 20.
10. Bruce advances his investigation into the murder of his parents, with Selina's help.
The next "Gotham" Season 1 episode, titled "The Anvil or the Hammer" will air on Apr. 27, on FOX. This is the penultimate episode of the season.
