“Furious 7,” the seventh installment of the phenomenal "Fast and Furious" franchise, is on track to be China’s next biggest movie after “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”

The film starring Vin Diesel has pulled in over $250 million eight days after its premiere. The movie has been receiving warm support from its fans from the world's fastest-growing and second-biggest film market.

According to film research firm EntGroup, "Furious 7" has a total of 584,500 screenings and 29,828,822 admissions to date.

Currently, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" holds the record for being the biggest-earning film in China. The movie pulled in a total of $224 million and 289,684 screenings 10 days after its release in July 2014.

However, unlike now, the "Transformers" film had to compete with the local title "Breakup Guru" back then, which had 188,000 screenings.

According to acclaimed industry experts present during the Beijing International Film Festival, regulators will look closely at the film's success as it could skew the local film market in favor to foreign productions.

Reports also claim that state-backed China Film Group has a 10-percent stake in "Furious 7." The firm's control to the film's distribution is regarded as a significant factor to the movie's blockbuster success.

"Furious 7" stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jason Statham, who visited Beijing earlier in March for the movie premiere. Diesel hinted that the franchise's eighth edition could be filmed in the country.
