The royal baby appeared for the first time with her parents Kate Middleton and Prince William on the steps of St. Mary's Hospital. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked happy with their little bundle of joy.

According to The British Monarchy Facebook page, Kate Middleton and Prince William left for Kensington Palace soon after they waved to the crowd at the doorsteps of the hospital.

The new royal baby was shown to world in a soft woollen shawl reported Telegraph.

"Other Members of the Royal Family have been presented with these shawls in the past and Prince George and The Duke of Cambridge had a similar shawls when they were babies," spokesman for the Prince and Princess said.

Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton decided to carry their newborn daughter in a Britax Baby Safe carrier. It is the same carrier used to carry Prince George in 2013.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama congratulated the couple.

"Michelle and I are delighted to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family, and all the people of the United Kingdom on the birth of the Royal Princess."

The President of the United States of America wished the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son Prince George, on behalf of the people of his country, "much joy and happiness."
