However, despite the recent axing, it seems that the original "Spider-Man" film will have another spinoff in the next few years.

Film producer Kevin Paige previously revealed that there are indeed talks about creating a "Spider-Man" reboot.

According to him, the spinoff will portray the more comical and sarcastic side of Spider-Man, similar to how he is portrayed in comic books.

In those books, Spider-Man was portrayed as a superhero that targets and kills bad guys, but is also one who can poke fun on his opponents. At times, he also makes fun of himself.

Paige also revealed that the spin-off could be something similar to "Batman Begins," which will feature a much younger Spider-Man. However, the film will feature the character after he already developed his superpowers.

Meanwhile, even though the "Spider-Man" reboot isn't likely to happen in the next few years, some publications are already hinting that it will be directed by a male director, according to Deadline.

The publication also released a shortlist of names as to who can most likely direct the upcoming film, if it were to really happen.

Some of the options include "Warm Bodies" writer Jonathan Levine, "Pitch Perfect" director Jason Moore, "Napoleon Dynamite" director Jared Hess, "St. Vincent" director Ted Melfi and more.
