Motorola president Rick Osterloh recently confirmed that the third generation Moto X smartphone is on its way. If Motorola will keep its usual time frame in releasing new devices, the Moto X will be released between August and September.

Leaked specs sheets of the upcoming Moto X revealed the smartphones 16 megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that uses Clear Pixel technology. OIS will also enable the phone to record videos with up to 4K resolution as well as slow motion recording.

According to VC Post, the next generation Moto X's slow motion recording can support 1080p resolution with up to 120 frames-per-second refresh rate. Additionally, it can record a 720p video at 240 frames-per-second. Regular videos can be recorded at 1080p resolution with 60 frames-per-second refresh rate.

Additional specs for the third generation Moto X includes a 5.2-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, 4 gigabyte of internal memory and a 3280 mAH battery. The smartphone will also run on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1.1 operating system.

Motorola has yet to release additional specs for the smartphone as well as its price range.

According to GSM Arena, chipmaker Qualcomm revealed that the next generation of Motorola's flagship smartphone will use the latest generation Snapdragon 810 chipset. Despite rumors that Qualcomm's chips are prone to overheating, the company amended this problem by developing a software that will control CPU throttling in order to control the chip's voltage and heat output.

Additionally, Qualcomm has already released the Snapdragon 815 processor that has addressed the overheating problem. The company also revealed that the Snapdragon 820 is also in development.
