Fox previously confirmed the release of a new movie sometime in 2018. Some fans are now speculating that the Marvel mystery movie may feature a crossover between the "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" franchises.

According to Slash Film, there is a possibility that the mystery film will be related to "Fantastic Four" because the sequel is slated for release in 2018 as well.

Vine Report also seconded the speculations when the publication noted the possibility of the mystery movie to hinge on two potential predecessors: "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four."

However, some fans are also claiming that a crossover between the two is not likely to happen because both films feature different universes that may not intersect.

At one point, Bryan Singer and Josh Trank may collaborate and come up with something they know fans would love to see on the big screen. On the other hand, combining both films may be quite the risk especially if the story will not be well-written.

The future of the "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" reboot may also depend on the upcoming release and success of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." The latter will also feature two superheroes, namely, The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel who will be working together to complete a specific mission.

This does not mean though that the lead stars from "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" could not fight against each other. It really is just a matter of creating the right storyline for the movie if it were to push through.

The untitled Marvel mystery film will reportedly be released on July 13.
