"Castle" season 8 is just a few more months away, but lead star Stana Katic has already dropped a major spoiler for the upcoming installment.
Recently, the actress, who plays the role of Kate Beckett, posted a tweet about her meeting with new showrunner Alexi Hawley. In her post, Stana said that season 8 will be a "nail-biter."
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Kate and her partner Rick (Nathan Fillion) will be faced with numerous challenges in season 8. There are also speculations that unlike the previous seasons, Kate and Rick will finally call it quits especially with the introduction of a new character, according to Venture Capital Post.
Hawley herself confirmed that season 8 will be shaken up a little bit. According to multiple sources, the creators of "Castle" decided to give the series major twists to make sure that fans will continue to watch the ABC show. "Castle" was in danger of being cancelled after its seventh season.
In other news, Katic previously confirmed that she will no longer join "Castle" season 8. At that time, the show creators said that the series would have taken on a different storyline if she did not sign up to rejoin the cast.
During an interview with TV Line, Hawley confirmed that there would have been a plan B in terms of the story if Katic really decided to not join the cast. Luckily she did and now fans cannot wait and see what will happen to Kate and Rick.
"Castle" season 8 will premiere on ABC this coming September.
