The Facebook algorithm for its News Feed has recently been updated and tweaked several times, and when what the Artificial Intelligence (AI) deems as important is given priority over what is most recent, the latter can be hard to access on a mobile device. However, today the social media giant is giving Facebook users more control over their news stream in the "See First" feature, always ranking preferred Friends' posts and stories at the tippy top of their iOS feeds.

The new feature is only available on iOS gadgets. Versions for Android smartphones and desktops will likely have a roll out in the near future, according to CNET.

Users can set their See First friends list by following some basic steps. They must first launch the Facebook app on their iOS device, such as an iPhone or iPad.

Then users must tap on the More button. It is located in the bottom-right corner of the touchscreen.

The next step is to scroll to the bottom of the menu, and then tap on News Feed Preferences. Then users must select which friends they want to See First in their News Feed stream.

Facebook users will now have a better social networking experience. This is by having more autonomy about what information pops up in their feed, so they will not miss certain posts, pages, and stories.

In its official announcement of the new feature, Facebook stated that the objective of News Feed is to show users the content that they care about the most. This is based on what they Like and Comment on.

Facebook is also adding the new tools "unfollow" and "refollow," so people can see less content from certain Friends and Pages, according to Christian Science Monitor. They can also "see less" of a user's posts, which hides a Friend's content for a short period of time. There is no need to Unfriend them.
