Minions are supposed to be cute, that is why McDonald's decided to use the toy version of the Minions in its Happy Meal as giveaway. However, a grandfather who got one for his 4-year-old granddaughter at Longwood McDonald's got the shock of his life.

The toy turned out to be a have a dirty mouth that says cuss words. Bradley Merten said he could not believe what he heard from the toy Minion which uttered "What the f*ck" Other McDonald's diners who also got the collectible heard the toy say, "I'll be damned," reports Mashable.

Nancy Kaffer, a Detroit Free Press columnist shared the same experience when her daughter banged the toy on the table and it uttered the same profanity that Merten heard.

However, the fast food chain said that what the toy Minion said was "para la bukay," "hahaha" and "eh." The McDonald's spokesperson admits not knowing what some of those words mean in English, but belies that the giveaway says offensive or profane things as parents claim.

In the film, the Minions spoke Minionese, which "Despicable Me" director Pierre Coffin - who co-created the language - said that the toy could literally say anything. He thinks that people who hear profanity have "twisted" minds. He adds that it would be stupid to do that in a movie that has kids as its target audience.

"I don't think myself as being very intelligent, but I'm certainly not that dumb," Coffin says.
