UPDATE: Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick are set to come back on "South Park" season 19 premiere on Sept. 16.
With the "South Park" season 19 release date set in September, it has been confirmed that the Comedy Central adult animated sitcom will be followed by four more seasons. Recently renewed, the series will produce its 302nd episode in 2019.
"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will continue to write and direct each episode of the Comedy Central series, which follows a group of four boys named Stan Marsh, Eric Cartman, Kenny McCormick and Kyle Broflovcki and their friends living in the small town of South Park, Colo.
Some fans believe that the "South Park" season 19 release date will be on Sept. 23, considering that the past two seasons premiered on Sept. 25, 2013 and on Sept. 24, 2014. However, it is also said that "South Park" season 19 may premiere on Sept. 16, according to Business Standard.
In a statement obtained by the publication, Parker and Stone said, "We love working for Doug and with everyone at Comedy Central. They've given us an insane level of artistic and creative freedom for almost 20 years. They walk the walk."
Set to have its 30th season in 2019, "South Park" is set to become cable's longest-running scripted primetime series and streaming service Hulu is reportedly paying Viacom $192 million to keep the exclusive rights to the Comedy Central series for another three years, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
According to the publication, "South Park" is among the most pirated shows in the television industry. In 2006, the series was a crucial issue in convincing Viacom to sue YouTube and owner Google.
