After the news broke out that One Direction band member Louis Tomlinson is going to be a father, the internet went into a frenzy and social media exploded with messages from fans, which ranged from disbelief to heartbreak.
It was reported in the evening of July 14, Tuesday, that the One Direction heartthrob is expecting a baby with Los Angeles-based stylist, Briana Jungwirth. The two are not in a relationship and had met through common friends earlier this year, soon after the singer's split from his longtime girlfriend, Eleanor Calder, People reported.
Although the 23-year-old singer was reportedly taken aback first when he got to know about the pregnancy, he is now happy and excited and has vowed to be a "hands-on dad" when the baby arrives early in 2016. The singer has been with the baby-mama on every ultrasound check-ups so far and is even looking for property near her home, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Soon after the news, One Directioners flooded Twitter with their extreme reactions, which ranged from denial, shock to excitement. Pretty hilarious memes and jokes also circulated on the micro-blogging site as the hashtag, #OhNoLouis, is still in trend.
"Do y'all really believe louis got some girl pregnant.....like.....really," tweeted a fan in disbelief.
A few shock-filled tweets were soon followed by jokes and memes about Tomlinson impregnating a woman.
"Imagine sliding out of the womb and your dad is louis Tomlinson," tweeted a One Directioner.
The news has also come as a jolt of surprise to a sect of One Directioners, who believed strongly that Tomlinson is in a gay relationship with the fellow band member, Harry Styles. The two were even monikered as "Larry" and it was rumored that their girlfriends were just ploys planned by management to hide their love from the media.
"Larry is real modest made Louis impregnate her to hide the fact that he and Harry are together but Larry are using her as a surrogate also," tweeted a fan.
Tomlinson is yet to respond on the matter, though, fans are urging him to either confirm or deny the news at the earliest.
