After having major changes for the 2015 model, the 2016 Suzuki RM-Z450 model has very few changes, although fans expected some major updates that perhaps did not appear in previous models.
In 2014, the RM-Z had changes to the aluminum frame to give the bike more flex and better impression, as well as joining the air fork wars, Cycle News reported. The model was fitted with Showa's latest generation SFF-AIR Triple Chamber fork that users thought was effective and had some level of potential but was far too sophisticated for the average rider.
For the 2016 model, the frame and Showa SFF-AIR Triple Chamber fork is the same as the 2015 model and almost everything else. There are just two major changes perceivable in the 2016 RM-Z450 model - the front brake caliper is smaller by 10 percent and the second change is the Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control - S-HAC has been redesigned to try and enhance traction on starts, Dirt Rider said.
Restructuring of the front brake caliper serves to reduce a bit of unnecessary weight. The 2016 A -mode is suited for rough surfaces and slippery conditions - the S-HAC alters the ignition scheduling at the time of the launch to eliminate the starting gate, reducing wheel spin.
The new B-mode serves for conditions that are tacky and grippy whenever there is a need for a more aggressive launch. The S-HAC will enhance the ignition scheduling to provide for increased throttle reaction and stronger spurt off the line.
The ignition will come back to normal function after 4.5 seconds, or when the rider changes to fourth, or when the throttle is wholly closed, based on what happens first.
Most of the changes seen on the 2016 RM-Z450 model concentrated on the 250F gadget that will be launched in mid-September.
