With Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" hitting the big screen next year, Sir Patrick Stewart himself has made a quick visit in the Toronto set of the upcoming superhero film.

Stewart has recently shared a photo of him and some of his production staff on his official Instagram account. In the photo, Stewart seems to be watching a filmed output with Singer and looks really attentive during his visit in the set. He was pointing at something while director Singer appears focused. Singer's photo got more than 7,000 likes and more than a hundred comments.

Stewart has worked along with Singer in various "X-Men" films in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, playing the role of the older Professor Charles Xavier/ Professor X. While the actor was seen in the Toronto set of the upcoming film, he and his co-star Sir Ian McKellen, who is playing the role of older Magneto, will not be seen in Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse."

In his interview with Comic Book in Jan. 16, Stewart said that "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to showcase the earlier lives of the characters, which made him think that he will not be having an appearance. Meanwhile, he told Cinema Blend in February that McKellen will be in Singer's film, along with the news the he will be sharing the big screen with Hugh Jackman in a "Wolverine" film in 2017.

Known for his role as Professor X in "X-Men," "X-Men 2," "X-Men: The Last Stand," "X-Men: Origins," and "X-Men: Days of Future Past," Stewart will be next seen in Mitch Davis' comedy film "Christmas Eve."

James McAvoy is playing the younger Professor X while Michael Fassbender is playing the younger Magneto. Aside from them, "X-Men: Apocalypse" also stars Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Ben Hardy, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Lara Condor, Olivia Munn, Rose Byrne, Josh Helman, and Oscar Isaac as the titular villain, among others.

Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016.
