United States President Barack Obama was filmed dancing to the tunes of a Kenya's famous band at a State House dinner hosted by Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta on July 25, Saturday.

According to recent reports, as the famous afro-pop band Sauti Sol started its performance at the event, President Obama soon stood up, buttoned up his jacket and joined in the Lipala, a popular revived dance form in Kenya, The Guardian reported. He was soon joined by the top delegates, including the Kenyan president and first lady Uhuru and Margaret Kenyatta, and the US national security adviser, Susan Rice.

The video of the president Obama dancing to the hit Kenyan tune was later uploaded by the band on Instagram, along with the caption, "And for those who doubted President @barackobama 's step - the #LipalaDance #SuraYako is his new favorite Kenyan dance."

The president was also seen laughing and hugging his half-sister, Auma, as the band ended their performance. Later he was seen singing along with a Nairobi youth orchestra group that was headed by Kenyatta's niece, Kavi Pratt.

The event was attended by many members of the President's extended family, including his aunts, uncles and half-siblings, Daily Mail reported.

"My grandmother, Mama Sarah, who told me I had to come back to Kenya," said the U.S. commander-in-chief  in his speech, before jokingly adding that when her grandmother directs something "generally you have to do it."

The president also poked fun at his critics back home, who are sarcastically suggesting that he has gone Kenya to look for his lost birth certificate. U.S first lady Michelle Obama was not present at the event. Watch the President's cool dance moves below:
