Hulk Hogan is officially out of all things WWE, and that includes the upcoming wrestling video game, "WWE 2K16."
2K has confirmed that the wrestling Hall of Famer will not be making an appearance on the video game. The decision stems from recent revelations about Hulk Hogan being caught in a middle of a racial tirade.
"We are highly respectful of the way that our partners choose to run their business and manage our partnerships accordingly," 2K said in a statement as noted by Forbes. "We can confirm that Hulk Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16."
Forbes added that the iconic wrestler has been in video games since 1987. He first appeared on Commodore 64's "MicroLeague Wrestling" and was on "WWF Wrestlemania" on the original Nintendo.
Hulk Hogan was also removed from all WWE related publications and references. The wrestler was deleted from WWE.com's wrestlers profile list and from the "Tough Enough" judges list. He was also removed from the WWE Australian Tour list. Merchandise of the wrestler were also deleted from WWE's online store.
The decision by WWE and 2K Sports follows reports that the wrestler used the N-word repeatedly during a conversation. An audio clip of the alleged tirade was leaked online.
Following the outrage, Hogan has released an official apology, admitting that he did use "offensive language" in a conversation.
"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it," Hogan said in a statement to People.
"This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise...I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs," he added.
