A surprising reunion happened during the July 25 premiere of Disney Channel's latest TV movie, "Descendants." High School Musical" members gathered round again to support their former director and friend in real life, Kenny Ortega.
"Descendants" director Kenny Ortega posted a groufie with the HSM alumni that included Monique Coleman and Corbin Bleu among others. Zac Efron and his former on and off screen love interest on the show Vanessa Hudgens, were the ones not seen during the monumental premiere, EW stated.
It was over the Instragram accounts of Kenny Ortega and Monique Coleman that photos of the group in all smiles were posted. HSM may have ended for about ten years ago, but Ortega is still fervent with his interest to do a huge commemorative project for the Disney Channel show.
Ortega further mentioned in an interview how he is ever ready to work another 10 years with having always considered Disney Channel as his home, Variety reported.
On the other hand, the American TV director's latest project is the channel's another shot on following the recipe for success that HSM had in the past. The "Descendants" movie is expected to be a crowd pleaser since it will revolve around the most interesting of characters.
It will feature the nasty children of several famous opponents who also made names of their own fame in the most iconic Disney stories.
One of the new project's cast members Sofia Carson believes that it will bring family and friends together since it will be based on the fairy tales many loved for all time. Carson together with BooBoo Stewart may be newbies in working for the Disney Channel but they will be joined in by veterans such as Cameron Bouce and Dove Cameron.
Other names that make up the power cast also include Kristin Chenoweth and Kathy Najimy among the most well noted parents of the lead cast.
The special premiere transpired inside the Walt Disney Studios and will be shown on July 31, Friday, 8 p.m. ET via Disney Channel.
