With Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" hitting the big screen next year, Tye Sheridan has shared on what fans can expect on his role in the upcoming superhero film.
Sheridan is playing the role of Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops. In his interview with Indiewire on his latest movie "The Stanford Prison Experiment," the actor said that there was a sense of anger and confusion in his character.
The actor also mentioned that Cyclops was in a transition period, in which he found trouble on his abilities and qualities as a mutant. Sheridan also said that fans will see the Dark Phoenix become more equipped with knowledge about being a human mutant, as well as to develop certain skills to cope with his powers.
For the actor, he finds Singer's take on Cyclops really cool, since the superhero will be seen as a dynamic character, from his origins, his deeds to overcome his weaknesses, and his destiny at the conclusion of the film.
According to Cinema Blend, Sheridan's incarnation of Cyclops is in contrary to James Marsden's version in "X-Men," "X-Men 2," and "X-Men: The Last Stand." The former will be seen as bad natured while the latter was viewed as a leader, who feels in charge of the team. Sheridan also shares the big screen with Lucas Till, who plays the role of Havok, Cyclops' brother.
Aside from Sheridan, "X-Men: Apocalypse" also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Ben Hardy, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Lara Condor, Olivia Munn, Rose Byrne, Josh Helman, and Oscar Isaac as the titular villain, among others.
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016.
